About the studio

A small studio, on purpose.

Calder Lane Dental is a boutique practice for families and adults who'd like their dentist to slow down. Fewer chairs, longer appointments and the same faces every time you visit.

Why small

Because good dentistry needs time.

Most of what makes a dental visit stressful comes from rushing: a quick hello, a chair tipped back, a list of problems and a bill. We built Calder Lane the other way round.

We run fewer chairs than a typical practice, so appointments can be longer and nobody is watching the clock. You'll see the same small team of dentists, hygienists and front-desk staff each visit, and they'll remember what you told them last time.

"We'd rather explain one thing properly than rush through five."

That's the idea the whole studio is built around, from the lounge to the way we write your treatment plan.

How we work

Three things we never rush.

i.

Time

Hour-long first visits, unhurried check-ups and extra minutes built in for anyone who's nervous. If a conversation runs over, we let it.

ii.

Honesty

We show you what we see on screen, tell you what can wait, and put every price in writing before treatment. No upselling at the chair.

iii.

Comfort

Numbing gel before every injection, a stop signal you choose, headphones, blankets and breaks. Small things that add up to a calmer visit.

The sterilisation room: a stainless-steel autoclave, an ultrasonic cleaner and a tray of instruments sealed in blue pouches

Behind the scenes

What happens to every instrument.

Our sterilisation room sits behind glass, and you're welcome to look in. Every instrument goes through the same four steps between patients.

  1. Cleaned. Scrubbed, then placed in an ultrasonic bath that lifts debris from every groove.
  2. Sealed. Packed into pouches with an indicator strip that changes colour when sterile.
  3. Sterilised. Run through the autoclave at high temperature and pressure, with every cycle logged.
  4. Opened in front of you. Pouches stay sealed until you're in the chair.

The studio

Light, quiet and unclinical.

Big windows, soft colours and as little beeping as possible. Every treatment room has a view, and the children's room has a sky of its own.

Accessible by design

Easy to reach, easy to be in.

If anything would make your visit easier, tell us when you book and we'll have it ready.
